Rob Wellz Inks The Orchard Distribution Deal via EvoMusic

Long Island-based hip-hop/R&B artist and Fortis Sterra founder Rob Wellz has secured global distribution and marketing through The Orchard (Sony Music) via EvoMusic.

The deal brings Wellz’s full catalog and upcoming releases under The Orchard’s infrastructure while establishing his imprint, Fortis Sterra Unbounded, as a new label under the EvoMusic umbrella. Wellz retains independent ownership and creative control, gaining access to advanced analytics, global DSP positioning, and a potential pathway to broader Sony Music opportunities.

This follows EvoMusic’s recent addition of American Idol finalist Travis Finlay and his label VYBWAV Records, continuing the company’s strategy of building a diverse, multi-genre roster with long-term catalog value.

Background

Wellz has built steady independent momentum through consistent output and collaborations with artists including Mesa, Vado, Cory Gunz, Frenchie, Tammi Jean, and second-generation Wu-Tang Clan affiliates. His Mac 40 album debuted at No. 2 on Sweden’s iTunes Top 100 Albums chart, with his catalog surpassing hundreds of thousands of streams across platforms. New music is slated to roll out throughout 2026.

Distribution Shift Context

A clean upstream move for independent artists and micro-labels. By routing through EvoMusic to The Orchard, Wellz steps into major-level distribution and marketing resources without surrendering ownership or creative autonomy — a model that continues to gain traction as distributors like The Orchard selectively expand their direct artist and imprint relationships. EvoMusic, led by industry veterans Peter Macchia and Paul Raimer, is positioning itself as a bridge for these types of scalable, ownership-preserving deals.
