Maple’s Pet Dinosaur Signs Global Deal with Warner Music Australia / In Bloom

Warner Music Australia and In Bloom have signed 15-year-old Australian rock artist Maple’s Pet Dinosaur to a global deal, the labels announced Wednesday. The move comes as Maple releases her new single “Child’s Play,” the title track from her debut EP due October 30.

Maple, who has rapidly risen from DIY social media uploads to one of Australia’s most discussed emerging acts, described the signing as “a dream come true.” She specifically praised Warner Music Australia president Dan Rosen and his team for supporting her creative process domestically, while highlighting In Bloom president Johnny Minardi’s A&R guidance and the imprint’s international reach.

Rosen called Maple’s creative vision, global ambition, and fan connection impressive, expressing excitement about taking her music worldwide. Minardi noted that her music “felt special from the very first listen” and that a batch of new songs fully captured her vision. He described her as possessing “a rare combination of talent, conviction, and relentless drive.”

In addition to the label deal, Maple has signed with Raw Power Management (home to Bring Me The Horizon, The Mars Volta, and Bullet for My Valentine) and the global talent agency CAA.

Background and Rapid Ascent

Maple’s breakthrough came in August 2025 with the zero-budget video for debut single “lego,” shot on a Ring doorbell camera. The clip became the most-viewed Instagram music video reel by an Australian-born artist, accumulating more than 55 million views on the platform, over 1 million TikTok likes, and additional millions across YouTube. She followed with “chorus,” using the momentum to secure live bookings rather than chase celebrity opportunities.

She has already played her third-ever show at SXSW Sydney, become the youngest artist ever to appear at Good Things (sharing stages with Tool and Weezer), and performed main stages at Groovin The Moo and Bass in the Grass, plus a slot on the Hellbound metal cruise. Live clips have drawn public co-signs from Fred Durst and Yungblud. Media coverage, including from Rolling Stone, has been strong.

Her sound blends heavy ’90s alt-metal riffs, soaring vocals, sharp lyricism, and a warped VHS-horror aesthetic. “Child’s Play” continues that approach: a detuned, discordant opening riff over heavy drums (courtesy of Ocean Sleeper’s Dan Stivens), shifting from rap-like delivery into vocal runs influenced by artists like Ariana Grande and Christina Aguilera. Maple has framed the song as metaphorical revenge against those who dismiss her due to age, aimed at anyone feeling confined by external expectations.

Analysis and Outlook

At 15, Maple is among the younger artists to secure a major-label partnership of this scope after a primarily organic, social-driven rise. The combination of Warner Music Australia’s regional infrastructure with In Bloom’s global footprint, plus established management and CAA representation, positions her for coordinated international rollout rather than a purely domestic or independent path.

The timing—new single and EP announcement concurrent with the signing—suggests the labels are moving quickly to capitalize on her existing momentum while she remains in the early stages of her catalog. Her stated priority on live performance over pure virality aligns with the heavy/alt scene’s traditional development path, and early festival and cruise appearances indicate promoters already view her as a viable draw.

Whether the deal yields significant chart or streaming breakthroughs outside Australia will depend on execution of the EP and subsequent touring, but the infrastructure now in place removes several common early-career bottlenecks for an artist of her profile. Further announcements are expected as 2026 progresses.
